OUR FIVE FAVOURITE LONDON CHRISTMAS DISPLAYS
1) Annabels, 46 Berkeley Square, London, W1J 5AT
This private members club has pulled out all the stops with the installation of a funfair-inspired carousel outside its front door. Taking inspiration from Annabel’s iconic white Pegasus, complete with golden wings, the carousel is a truly magical sight.
2) Selfridges, 400 Oxford Street, London, W1A 1AB
Christmas at Selfridges is all about the ‘celebrating the power of food bringing people together’, and so it is in their 15 window displays, which feature different Christmas food from green Brussel sprouts to inflated roast potatoes.
3) Fortnum & Mason, 181 Piccadilly, St. James’s, London, W1A 1ER
In the heart of Piccadilly, the exterior of Fortnum & Mason has been transformed into a large-scale Advent calendar, with each garland covered window sporting a different number.
4) Ralph Lauren, 1 New Bond Street, London, W1S 3LU
Capturing attention outside Ralph Lauren’s flagship store is a huge five-metre-tall Nordmann Fir tree, covered in glittering yellow lights and golden baubles. Smaller trees overhanging the entrance an big bushy wreaths complete the display.
5) Hamleys, 188-196 Regent Street, London, W1B 5BT
Strongly thematic, Hamley’s window display showcases the beauty and symbolism of the reindeer. Large cutout reindeers filled with hundreds of miniature figurines create a classic wintery scene replete with a large red sleigh.
