Located in Kyrgyzstan, a mountainous land of nomads and sheep breeding culture, wet-felting was a traditional craft and a vital household material for their ancestors. TUMAR produces eco-friendly comfort shoes underpinned by a tradition of felting. First product in 1998 by three women, today TUMAR empowers 200 professional felt makers and designers, selling their shoes to thousands of customers around the world using 100% natural wool products.
They continue to draw ideas from traditional materials and the craftsmanship of their nomadic ancestors, inspired by the art of transforming creative minds into high quality and functional items. Their mission is to engage with the world by modernising felt and elevating standards of living for customers and ourselves.
