12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS: LOOP

The brand name Enneste is a portmanteau of the Hungarian en es te, meaning me and you, and the Japanese for circle, en. That’s because Hungary is where Naho Izumi lived. Naho has extensive experience of dying cotton threads, as part of the creative team of Temaricious. So, Enneste products are dyed with Enneste colour; natural or regular dye in harmony with nature and soft, natural colours.

LOOP is offering a SELVEDGE winner a special box of Enneste threads, hand-dyed by Enneste Tokyo, with colour and materials selected by Hiromi Fujimoto. Before establishing her label, HiROMi FUJiMOTO, in 2015, Hiromi worked as a pattern maker for top fashion designers in Paris. Her time at Givenchy, and the artists she encountered, inspired her beautiful and unique embroidery designs, using French and Luneville techniques acquired at École Lesage Paris.

The box contains 19 different naturally dyed threads, in silk, mohair, cotton, bamboo, linen, and merino wool. Several months were spent getting the colour just right on each of these materials. The resulting soft and delicate colours are beautiful.

Fittingly, they are presented in a box illustrated by Anna Hashimoto, based on her original, coloured pencil drawings, inspired by Hiromi's embroidery work.
The box is worth £64, and contains the following:

Beautiful threads! Wish I lived closer so I could visit Loop and the Christmas market. Still, inspiration crosses the pond, and I’m so thankful.
