Going... Going... Gone!

The Festival of Britain, celebrated by the nation in 1951, aimed to create a feeling of hope & recovery after the destruction of the Second World War.  An oil painting by British artist Ruskin Spear, depicting the celebrations along London's Embankment during the festival, is up for auction at Bonhams on Tuesday 20th September.
