Leaping Lizards
Another independent business has chosen to make Archway Road its home. Leaping Lizards recently opened near the Selvedge drygoods store, stocking vibrant childrenswear which is handmade in Britain. The designers travel the world in search of ethnic prints to sew into clothing in sizes up to eight years old.
The clothes are handmade out of limited stocks of fabric, with the collections constantly changing as new materials are sourced from abroad. The designers aim to 'inspire creativity' in the wearer - surrounding children in the colours and patterns of cultures across the globe.
While you’re in the area, there are plenty of other stores well worth a visit. Souvenir is a boutique where you can find a variety of treasures – think charming vintage finds and handmade gifts. Why not stop for a coffee at Zela’s delicatessen or, if you prefer, a hand-mixed tea and a slice of something sweet at High Tea of Highgate. We also recommend the local bar The Boogaloo, which hosts various art and literary events, and is currently offering a menu by pop-up restaurant No 1 Party Banger.
