WIN A SELVEDGE GOODY-BAG!
With the Selvedge Edinburgh fair just around the corner now, we’re looking forward to indulging in all sorts of textile treasures that will be turning up in Dovecot Studios on the day. A couple of our favourite pieces are the contemporary graphic textiles made by two of our Scotland-based makers; knitwear designer Flora Collingwood-Norris and homeware designer Heather Shields.
Based in the Scottish borders, Collingwood-Norris runs her own luxury knitwear company where every piece is designed and made on the studio floor, by her. Using hand-powered knitting machines and traditional skills such as knitting and crochet, Collingwood-Norris creates an array of playful clothing that pops with pattern and colour for people of all ages and genders.
Similarly bright and beautiful is the work of Shields, whose graphic textiles are designed to lively up all corners of the home. Based in Argyll on Scotland’s west coast, Shields uses traditional and electronic looms to design double cloth textiles infused with striking patterns, and made with luxurious lambswool.
In collaboration with Ion magazine – one of Scotland’s most authoritative cultural publications – we’re giving our followers a chance to win a Selvedge goody-bag worth over £250, which includes two tickets to the Selvedge Fair in Edinburgh on August 19th, a three-year subscription to Selvedge magazine, a luxury Erraid hat designed and made by Collingwood-Norris, and a vibrant woven cushion created by Shields. To be in with a chance to win this prize, enter through Ion magazine’s competition page to put your name in for the win. Good luck!
