WOWO

WOWO was founded by Elizabeth Relin, who after having designed in Paris and New York for brands such as Chantal Thomass, Dorothée Bis, launched her children's clothing brand in 1998, which she named WOWO. "The Franco-American Elizabeth Relin is one of the first to have dared to heckle children's fashion in France". ELLE Magazine.
After 20 years, the brand evolved and concentrated on men and women’s wear, with smaller collections, gender fluid, one of a kind, and made in Paris clothes.
WOWO embodies the designer's love of prints and colours. Her eclectic silhouettes, imbued with a pop spirit, are inspired by a universal repertoire of traditional clothing. The designer honours culture fusion by using fabrics she brings back from her travels in India, Africa or Europe: Silk kanthas and embroidered suzani from India, Indigo, Chiouf and Malikhan from Senegal. Her kimonos have become one of the brand's signature pieces.

Indigo collection
It was during a trip to Dakar in Senegal where the brand organised a popup store that Elizabeth fell under the spell of the indigo loincloth. The diversity of the patterns and the depth of the blues, and the fact that it is still made in a traditional way echoed the spirit of the brand.
In December 2022, Le loft Dakar invited WOWO to participate to the 11th edition of the Partcours, a festival that promotes neighbourhoods through art in Dakar. Enabling Elizabeth to organise a Fashion Show in the streets of the Medina and present her collection made with these fascinating fabrics from West Africa.

The Yasuke Kimono
The gift is one of the best sellers of the brand: a kimono in indigo; It is one size fits all; you will look beautiful in it, whatever your age, gender or body shape.
When Elizabeth designed it, she had in mind the traditional kimonos off course but also the Paul Poiret aesthetic. It has large sleeves to give volume, and you can wear it inside or out. By the beach or vamp it up with a pair of beautiful earrings and dance the night away.
The Yasuke Kimono is part of our bi-monthly prize draw.
Enter to win, competition closes noon, 14 June 2023.
