The competition from our current issue (Issue 98: Together) will end on February 15, 2021. In keeping with the chillier winter months, we are giving away a handmade wool rug that will surely warm your hearth. The Artisan Project Mountain Rug was made in collaboration with female weavers whose rich textile history is deeply rooted in their connection to nature and landscape. For Artisan Project, every object is an ode to the beauty of the land, the shepherds and their flock, and the hands that made it.
Artisan Project is a collective company founded in 2011 by designer Nina Mohammad-Galbert. Inspired by the rich heritage of Moroccan artisanship, Nina relocated from Los Angeles to the medieval city of Fes and began her collaboration with fourth-generation weavers. Artisan Project’s ethos is to honor Moroccan artisanship, improve the lives of craftspeople and their families and ensure that hand-weaving skills continue to thrive. Nina works with women’s weaving cooperatives in the medina of Fes and the Middle Atlas Mountains to design and produce handwoven textiles that connect international clients with the land and artisans of Morocco. Nina also curates sourcing experiences for anyone with a passion for craft and a desire to explore the rich interweaving of nature and culture.
We have one readymade Mountain Rug to give away, worth $1200. This handmade rug is made from locally sourced wool and ritually blessed from the first knot to the last thread. Enter to win, competition closes February 15, 2021. For more information, visit www.artisanprojectinc.com.
