India, Maku Textiles, Udumbara dress - currently unavailable
Free size, half sleeves, mandarin collar dress with gathers at neckline and side panels, embroidered patches under the armhole and a front neck placket opening.
This garment is made special by the use of two natural dye ingredients: indigo and lac. The embroidered details on the neck and under arm add a subtle playfulness to this Bengal silk stripe.
Maku’s designs are contextual to community, practices and individual skill sets. This fabric is handwoven in the villages of West Bengal (India) by a shrinking community of traditional silk weavers. It is embroidered skillfully by an artisan in our studio.
This product is handwoven and hand-dyed. Any irregularities only add to the beauty of the textile.
Natural dyed garments may vary in appearance over time.
