Jenny Ogilvie - Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft
Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft is home to a permanent collection that showcases the work of artists and makers living and working in Ditchling, a Sussex village which nurtured some of the 20th century’s most innovative and creative ideas in crafts and design. Its location is in East Sussex, nestled at the foot of the South Downs and just a few miles from the south coast.
Among the selection of products we would bring to sell is a range of Christmas cards featuring woodblock prints, a reproduction Advent Calendar from the 1950’s, stationery with covers replicating beautiful end papers from hand-printed books and letterpress prints by contemporary artists using quotes from the museum’s founders and so much more. In particular, the museum has a reputation for Natural Dying and woven textiles, and we will have with us our range of dying seeds, hand-dyed balls of wool, a beautiful knitting pattern and kits for a yoked sweater, plus we would be launching a brand new lambswool scarf made in collaboration with design studio Wallace Sewell.
Our shop is integral to the museum and all purchases support the important work we do as a charity, preserving and presenting internationally important artwork made over 100 years ago on the museum’s doorstep.
