Henrietta Bevan
Henrietta Bevan creates high-quality crepe de Chine silk shirts, skirts, and dresses in a stunning array of colours and prints. Timeless and elegant, her chic yet versatile designs are the ultimate "anywhere, anytime" wardrobe staples. The luxurious silk is uniquely suited to all seasons—warm in winter and cool in summer. Produced in small runs and screen-printed by a talented team of artisans near Mumbai, India, Henrietta’s collection has grown organically through word of mouth, earning a loyal following of customers who return time and again for her trusted, stylish, and distinctive fashion.
Henrietta’s business evolved naturally from her deep love of textiles and print. She began her career working with tribal art dealer Peter Adler, who exhibited his collection of Asafo Flags, further fueling her passion for textiles. Together, they founded the jewellery brand Pebble London. It was during a stone-buying trip to India that Henrietta began designing her own clothes. Upon returning to London, her friends quickly fell in love with her creations, and the Henrietta Bevan label was born.
The screen-printing process Henrietta has developed with her Mumbai team is highly sophisticated, yet she welcomes the "happy accidents" and "perfect imperfections" that make each piece unique. Crepe de Chine, with its luxurious texture and flawless drape, forms the core of her collection, which now also includes block-printed and khadi cotton pieces.
“I’ve been travelling to India for over thirty years,” Henrietta says. “I’m endlessly inspired by their beautiful block prints, decorative wall hangings, and intricate roller-printed cotton.” Drawing from this wealth of inspiration, she has infused her own stylish aesthetic into her designs, creating a distinctive and beloved collection.
