From Hilary Grant's book Knitting from the North, enoy this Tide Beret. Inspired by winter in the northern Scottish Islands and using a traditional fairisle stitch you can wear this as a slouchy beanie with the cuff turned down or as a little beret. It is quite a neat style so if you want to make it bigger you can increase it – by one horizontal repeat.
Materials and tools you will need:
- Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift yarn:
- One ball Natural White, main colour (MC)
- One ball Heron, contrasting colour (CC)
- 2.25mm circular needles
- 2.75mm circular needles
This project comes from Knitting from the North by Hilary Grant, Kyle Books.
