Description (story of the item):
" What's the point of making a sustainable product if the maker isn't happy?"
We, all-women-team, value & nurture individuality. A job is given or created for each of the new member as per her interest and skills. Everyone has a space to be herself, that's the way we come up with new ideas to create thoughtful products. An initiative named Unschooled Artist where artisans will explore their design sensibility along with needle skills. Which will allow them to experience entrepreneurship. We together will explore new designs & technicality, quality improvements, consumer requirements, cost calculations and valuing each product. This is to give a sense of pride to each of them, how much valuable their skills are. To show them their capabilities. To overcome everyday stress and life issues. Just to be excited for the next day! We believe being happy should be the core for everyone!
Taru Ben our artisan who recently got promoted as Production Manager has handsewn this silhouette. She had a difficult time doing straight lines directly on the silhouette using the technique of running stitches, and wanted to draw it first but was later decided to let it have a free flow and create a unique irregular pattern of its own.
The shirt is paired with Hina Skirt, handsewn by our home-based artisan Hina Ben, it is done with techniques of Faant (Running Stitch) and Aari (Cobbler’s stitch) which is her speciality. The surface is design such so that it follows random patterns and gives textured surface through the skirt.
The product is made on order. It being handmade & upcycled there will be slight variations in terms of color, shape, size and fabric.
