Made of mercerized combed cotton, YUMI hand-embroidered white bed linen has decorative closures. Snails made of twisted yarn and sewn by hand on duvet covers and pillow cases become drawstrings with a pompom on each extremity.
“Moroccan trimmings are fascinating me. I can watch craftsmen for hours. They have such a dexterity and the fineness and delicacy of their work is very impressive. My foirst approach came with the Aya style i was inspired from the traditional djellaba thread buttons. The Yumi bedding collection is a more affordable product, a less labor-intensive style. Pompoms and twisted yarns are part of my work since long, here I mix both. I like simplicity and refinement, Yumi original and contemporary bed linen is an interpretation of this.”
