The company Vlisco is famous for its high-quality hardwearing waxprints which it

continuously improved and developed for over 170 years to ensure the

highest possible qualityand hardwearing fabrics. Due to Vlisco's high

quality standards certain fabrics are rejected because of misprints, or

wrong colouring. These waste materials are often destroyed since it could

hurt image and business if if these textiles were to reach the market.

Post - Vlisco gives an overview of our extensive research into Vlisco’s

factory, its products and most importantly: its waste materials. The book

lays out the various ways in which leftover fabric could potentially be

reinvented and recycled into sustainable high-quality products that

addressing new markets.

The book shows 333 samples exploring the irrefutable value Vlisco's

waste materials offer. Among these pieces are lasercutting samples that

explore cut-out patterns in the original printing, and experiments with

folding and coiling of the fabric that resulted in Recycled Carpets.
