Shiyi founded Oats & Rice in 2015 after graduating from the Winchester School of Art in the UK. She further honed her expertise in traditional textile techniques at the prestigious Kawashima Textile School in Kyoto, where she mastered kasuri (ikat) weaving. Her passion for craftsmanship and sustainability took her to Inner Mongolia, where she envisioned a fully sustainable cashmere supply chain.
