The Indian Block Print Co. is a family business founded by Maggie after leaving her corporate job 20 years ago. Passionate about making creativity accessible, Maggie gathered a loyal team, including her daughters Tess and Annabel, to help others create art, even if they don’t consider themselves “arty.”
Maggie’s journey into block printing started at a craft show, where she encountered Indian wood printing blocks. Inspired, she took her first trip to India in 2010 to meet master carvers and learn the craft. She saw potential in smaller, hand-held blocks, which led her to design custom pieces.
Partnering with carvers, Maggie built trusted relationships, often being invited to family weddings and helping support a new block carving workshop in rural India. The team grew, with Annabel’s partner Travis and long-time member Anya, who joined over 10 years ago. The company now offers block printing and pottery painting, empowering people to create beautiful art regardless of background, while fostering confidence and well-being.
