Wholecloth Studio
Elli Beaven is the creative force behind Wholecloth Studio, where she produces quilted textile pieces that honour the tradition of scrap quilt making. The studio's name reflects her commitment to using waste textiles of all kinds, whether offcuts from garment makers, ends of rolls, dead stock, or repurposed clothing—each fabric carrying its own story. Elli often enhances these textiles by dyeing them with local plants, adding depth and a unique colour palette to each piece. Her process-led, creative approach centres on play and experimentation, allowing the varied fabrics to shape the design of each creation.
Originally from the UK, Elli now works from her studio in rural Galicia, Northern Spain. After spending three and a half years living and working on a sailing boat while travelling from the Mediterranean to the Pacific, she enjoys the spaciousness of her home studio. In addition to selling finished quilted pieces and PDF sewing patterns through her online shop, Elli offers workshops—both online and in person—on a variety of quilting techniques.
