The Ibu Movement is a global initiative and 501(c)(3) nonprofit that partners with women artisans around the world to disrupt poverty and fashion change through the art of their hands. Partnering with over 100 women artisan groups in more than 50 countries, Ibu creates pathways to economic independence by providing a marketplace for their artisans' handmade, luxury goods, and utilising grants to expand their capacity for success, provide education and training, and engage artisans with a global network of allies. 

The word “Ibu” means “a woman of respect” in Malay, and the movement honours this sentiment by connecting women’s ancestral skills -beading, embroidery, weaving, and more - with contemporary markets. Each piece crafted by Ibu’s artisan partners is a testament to their heritage, resilience, and artistry. Ibu celebrates the ingenuity and innovation of women who use the art of their hands to disrupt cycles of poverty, rise into self-sufficiency, and elevate their communities.

The Prize:

Handcrafted in Columbia, we have a 24-karat gold choker courtesy of Ibu Movement
to giveaway. Crafted by Columbian jeweller Alma Joyeria, the necklace is made from local ginkgo tree leaves, collected by Joyeria and carefully preserved. Once
the leaves have been dried they are coated with resin and delicately hand painted with gold. This unique and striking necklace is worth $630 and is sure to catch people’s attention as it glistens elegantly around the lucky winner’s neck.
